Movie rights for "The Sims" have been sold.

Electronic Arts Inc. has sold the movie rights for "The Sims," reports Reuters. "The Sims" is the best-selling computer game of all time.

Sequels and expansions have sprouted, such as "The Sims: House Party" and "The Sims: Vacation." The computer game has sold almost 85 million copies since its debut 7 years ago.

"The Sims has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said Rod Humble, head of The Sims Studio at Electronic Arts Inc.

The "virtual dollhouse," as it has been dubbed, puts the player in charge of the daily lives of simulated people.
