The Situation: 'I Don't Mind Being the Underdog'

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino talks to People magazine about being on 'Dancing with the Stars'

While it has been announced that Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s dance partner on Dancing with the Stars will be Karina Smirnoff, he tells People.com that he will have to miss a few rehearsals due to a conflict in schedule.

“The Situation” seems to be everywhere these days - hence speculation that he will make $5 million by the year’s end – and two of those places will be on two of the biggest TV shows on television.

Come September 20, when Dancing with the Stars airs, he will be on two hit TV shows and Sorrentino recognizes how lucky he is. “It's pretty unbelievable for me to be on one of the biggest shows on MTV to one of the biggest shows on TV," he explained. Sorrentino reassures fans, "There's enough Situation to go around, the Situation has mass appeal.”

Since he has prior obligations to the show that put him on the map, the in-demand reality star will miss rehearsal to film the Jersey Shore. He tells People, “I’m going to lose a couple days practice,” adding, “But I don’t mind being the underdog. I promise to try my hardest and practice as much as I can and be the best that I can be. I hope the Situation Nation shows up to support me.”

He adds, “I have a ticket or two reserved for Pauly D. and Snooki.”
