All My Children actress Rebecca Budig, 37, exclusively confirms to People.com that she is engaged to television marketing executive Michael Benson.
Budig, who was crowned as the winner of season one of Skating with the Stars in late December, says of her engagement, “We don’t have any wedding plans yet. He’s an amazing man and we’re just really happy.”
The actress’ forthcoming marriage will be her third. Budig’s most recent divorce came last year, when she separated from The Bachelor season four star Bob Guiney after five years of marriage. The former couple had no children, and their divorce was finalized last July.
As for the engagement ring, Benson proposed on December 25 with a “ruby and an old European cut diamond in platinum and yellow circa 1935 from Platt Boutique Jewelry.”
The soap opera actress gushed about the ring, telling People, “It’s a really unique design and it’s really stunning.”
Budig and Benson met nine months ago, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Prior to her engagement, Budig most recently captured headlines for defeating reality star Bethenny Frankel in the season one finale of ABC’s Skating with the Stars. The actress and her skating partner, Fred Palascak, earned a perfect score of 60/60 for their final performance.
