Anna Nicole Smith's son died while visiting his mother in the hospital after she gave birth to a daughter last week, a Bahamas police official told the Associated Press.
Anna Nicole Smith, 38, gave birth to a girl at the Doctor's hospital in Nassau, Bahamas Thursday and her son died while visiting her on Sunday, Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force told the AP. He said an autopsy was underway.
Smith's website had a statement posted about her son's death.
"Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being," a statement on the site said. It said that drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
