Smucker's Stars on Ice Promises to Entertain

Whether you like skating or not, the show is designed for all audiences.

With the 2010 Olympic Winter Games right around the corner, the world of ice skating is set to capture the public eye again. Olympic champion figure skaters and hit music make a great combination, and producer/founder Scott Hamilton has taken his Stars on Ice show to a new level. "You don't even have to be a skater and like skating to enjoy this ice show," he says in the press release for the event.

Stars on Ice is the only show of its kind in the United States. Over the years, the show has earned itself three Emmy awards, one ACE Cable award for Best Sports Special, and is acclaimed as the best ice skating show on the planet.

Incorporating music, modern lighting, vivid costumes, and (of course) high powered skating choreography, this year's show is completely revamped. Featuring music by Led Zeppelin, Meatloaf, and Beethoven among others, the show highlights the prowess of Olympic Medalists Ilia Kulik, Sasha Cohen, Xue Shen, and Hongbo Zhao, world champions Todd Eldridge, Yuka Sato, and Jeffrey Buttle and many more. While they may not be competing for medals, their performances are nothing less than pro caliber. The reviews have been favorable in the cities visited this year so far, and the show continues to outdo itself.

The current winter tour will visit 39 cities in the U.S., and runs from its opening on January 23 to April 11. In its 23 years in existence, Stars on Ice has performed over 1,000 shows, and has included most of figure skating's luminary stars.
