Snipes Found Not Guilty

Wesley Snipes, the popular movie star, has been found not guity, by a jury of his peers, for tax fraud.

Wesley Snipes, the popular action star, has been found not guilty, by a jury, for federal tax fraud and conspiracy charges, Friday, but was convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return, according to Yahoo.com.

In 2006, Snipes, along with two co-defendants, a delicensed accountant and a tax protest leader, was indicted, and a 16-year-penalty for breaking federal tax laws had been hanging over the popular actor, until today.

Snipes is not yet off the hook though, for he was still convicted on three misdemeanors, which could, but are not likely to, result in a maximum of three years in prison.

But while the star of the Blade trilogy was acquitted of tax fraud and conspiracy, the other two defendants were not. Both will face, as Snipes would have if found guilty, 16 years in prison.
