Snippets from Lynne Spears's Book

Lynne Spears' book about her daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn, "Through the Storm: A Real Tale of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," comes out September 16th. What can reader expect to find inside the 211 pages of the book? The Associated Press got an advanced copy of the book and were able to share some stunning revelations.

According to the Los Angeles Times, there are family photographs of Britney from when she was 3 years old, singing and dancing, and more photos from throughout her career until her terrible downfall last year.

But readers may learn less about Britney and more about Lynne, and Lynne's perspective on what was going on in her daughters' lives. For example, Lynne writes about feeling powerless when a 1999 magazine put a sexy shot of Britney in panties and a bra on its cover, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Readers will read about her "shock and dismay" at seeing Britney's shaved head, and feeling "punched in the stomach" when she found out her youngest daughter Jamie Lynn was pregnant at 16, according to the Los Angeles Times.

She writes about feeling completely beside herself when Britney's ex-manager Sam Lutfi's admitted to grinding pills and putting them in Britney's food, hoping to induce a coma, the Los Angeles Times revealed.

After all these, and many more, experiences, Lynne Spears told People that if she had the chance to do it over again, she would still allow her daughters to pursue stardom.

"I think you have to let them follow their dreams," Spears says in a new interview with People. "I think it would be worse in the end if you didn't."
