Snoop Dogg Arrested in Swedish Drug Bust
Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested in Stockholm while being accompanied by a woman in her 20s, for "deemed to be under the influence of narcotics." The couple was taken to the police station, were tested for drug use, and released a few hours later.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested on three individual occasions last year on drug and weapon charges.
Matt Brannlund, a spokesperson for the Ostermalm police explained, "He underwent some tests, that will now be sent away. In two to three weeks, we'll know if he was on something. He was arrested for use of narcotics. It's illegal in Sweden to use them, even to have it in your system," reiterated Brannlund.
If it is found that Snoop was under the influence, he could be fined. In Sweden, the fine for such an act is income related, so "if he earns a lot, it can be a couple of thousand [Swedish crowns]," said Brannlund.
Snoop was in Sweden for a performance with P Diddy and was trying to get to a party following their concert on Sunday night, when he was stopped.
