Sordid Details of Anna Nicole Smith's Final Days Revealed in Court
Various witnesses presented a detailed account of Anna Nicole Smith's final days as part of a preliminary hearing in a trial against the former model's lawyer and two doctors.
The first witness, Special Agent Danny Santiago of the State Department of Justice, said that detectives found the former playboy model dead in a bed full of feces. In a more damning statement, in the case against her friend and doctors, he continued to say that detectives also confiscated about a dozen different prescription and illegal drugs from her hotel room.
According to Santiago, when Smith arrived at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Feb.5 she was too weak to sit up and drink liquids. Her lawyer and friend, Howard K. Stern, had to feed her an electrolyte formula through a baby bottle.
However sickly Smith may have been right before her death, Stern and Drs. Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor are not being charged with her death. The judge was sure to note that the cause of death is not the issue at hand in the case.
