Last Tuesday, Chicago-born rapper Soulja Boy was arrested and charged in Carroll County, Ga. for possessing marijuana along with four other men.
Cops pulled over their Cadillac Escalade for driving on a highway with the lights off. But when the police approached the vehicle they decided to search the SUV because it reeked of marijuana.
TMZ reported that the police found a briefcase containing too much weed for personal consumption. Intentions to sell the substance were therefore inferred.
According to Access Atlanta, Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, and his companions were charged with three felonies: “felony marijuana possession, felony marijuana possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.”
Although the briefcase and the firearm are assumed to belong to Way, he was released today after paying $10,000 bail. The other four men have also been released.
