Spears Documentary Sets the Record Straight
After returning to the VMAs and producing a new album to promote her comeback, singer Britney Spears and MTV are releasing a behind-the-scenes documentary entitled, Britney: For the Record, that discusses the singer's public meltdown and the action she is taking to pull her life back together, according to People magazine.
The 90-minute documentary followed Spears for three months as she produced her upcoming album, Circus, which is set to hit stores on Dec. 2, the singer's 27th birthday. MTV's documentary will air just before the album drops, on Nov. 30, and feature revealing interviews where Spears addresses her erratic behavior.
"I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in," Spears said. "This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
Spears said the public scrutiny has been particularly difficult to deal with.
"Even when you go to jail, y'know, there's the time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never ending. It's just like [the Bill Murray movie] 'Groundhog Day.'"
"I'm having to pay for it for a really long time," Spears said. "I think I've learned my lesson now, and enough is enough."
The documentary will air on Nov. 30 on MTV.
