Spears's Son Released from Hospital

Singer Britney Spears's son, Jayden, was released from the hospital, Monday, after being given a clean bill of health.

After being rushed to a Louisiana-area hospital over the weekend, singer Britney Spears's son, Jayden, was released from the hospital Monday night and given a clean bill of health, according to People magazine.

"A source close to the Spears family has told us that Britney and family have left the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center," said an update on Spears's Web site. "Jayden is fine."

The hospital trip was spurred by a "terrible allergic reaction" to something the toddler ate on Sunday. Spears and her mother, Lynne, took Jayden to the hospital around 1:30 p.m. and spent the night at the hospital with the 2-year-old. A source close to the Spears family said Jayden "had hives, was itchy and irritable." The family is still unsure of what caused Jayden's reaction.

Initial reports that the toddler was suffering from seizures have been dispelled.

The trip to Louisiana marks the first time Jayden and his brother, Sean Preston, have returned to their mother's home state since Spears lost custody of her sons last year.
