Speilberg Signs with EA games

Speilberg helps close the gap between the film and gaming industries.

Steven Spielberg has signed a deal with Electronic Arts to supervise the creation of three original games.

This is Spielberg's second journey into the gaming-world. In 1995, his film studio, DreamWorks formed a games arm, DreamWorks Interactive. Spielberg, himself, provided the concept for the most successful game created by the studio. The game, Medal of Honor, created in 1999, was for the original PlayStation.

In 2000, EA bought DreamWorks Interactive from Spielberg but now the director is jumping back into the industry.

This is just another example of the growing alliance between the film and gaming industries. It was recently announced that "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson will direct a film version of the popular game, Halo. Jackson is also involved in creating a game-version of his latest film project, "King Kong."
