Spice Girls Make Headlines
After almost a decade out of the spotlight, the Spice Girls are back in the headlines.
Arguably the most famous Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham aka "Posh Spice" has been in talks for a new reality show. NBC announced Wednesday that the upcoming series will instead run as an hourlong special on July 16. "Victoria Beckham: Coming to America" will focus on Victoria's move from London to L.A. with husband David Beckham.
The project was originally set to air as a six-episode series, but problems arose when David, who is to transfer from soccer team Real Madrid to the Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy June 30, was recalled to play with the English national team late last month.
If Victoria's special is a success, more specials or a series could be in the works.
In other Spice news, Melanie Chisholm aka "Sporty Spice" has changed her mind about a Spice Girls reunion. She had originally been against the idea, saying, "The past is the past. We could never recreate it". But on Friday she announced that she would be willing to give it one more go.
"I don't want to be the person that stops it from happening," she explained. "If the Spice Girls were to get back together it would be for a very short space of time. It would be a final goodbye and a 'thank you' to the fans."
