Spider-Man 3 Will Premiere in Japan

Is three enough for the blockbuster franchise?

Spider-Man 3 is all set to premiere in Japan. The stars of the blockbuster film, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, along with director Sam Raimi and series creator Stan Lee, are all signed on to attend the premiere. "Spider-Man 3" is to be released in Japan and parts of Africa, Asia, and Europe on the 1st of May. That's three days prior to its US release date, May 4.

Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane) has said in the past that she will not make more than three Spider-Man movies, and now Maguire has seconded that notion. According to the leading man, the series feels like a trilogy and it would be a logical breaking-away point for him. Director Sam Raimi feels differently, but acknowledges that he cannot make another movie without his star. He says that when he finishes this third installment of the blockbuster series, he wants to make sure he's still fascinated by the character. But he just can't imagine the series without Maguire's Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
