Spider-Man 4: Here We Go Again
Spidey's back for a fourth big screen installment to the popular superhero series, and so are web-slinging actor Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi, according to MTV.
After a year of rumors, denials and possibilities, Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke has laid the rumors to rest on her blog, Deadline Hollywood Daily.
No deal is in place as of yet for Kirsten Dunst, who plays Spider-Man's on-again, off-again red-haired love interested, Mary Jane Watson. There is no official word yet as to which villain will be featured in the latest installment, either, but Finke says, "Once you find out who the villain is, you'll know who's playing it."
Two possible villains were set up in previous Spider-Man installments: Lizard, by actor Dylan Baker as Dr. Curt Connors in Spider-Man 3, and Man-Wolf, by actor Daniel Gillies as John Jameson in Spider-Man 2.
Other possibilities include Black Cat, Vulture and Carnage.
Sony Pictures, who produced the first three installments of the "Spider-Man" series, is considering filming installments 4 and 5 concurrently. Both scripts are being developed by James Vanderbilt, who penned Zodiac.
Filming is scheduled to begin next fall and the film is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in May 2011.
A Venom spin-off was also recently announced.
