Spitzer's Hooker Aspiring NYC Singer

Democrats took a blow this week when potential future presidential nominee and New York Governor Eliot Spitzer was reported to have paid over $4,000 for a prostitute. His public humiliation and resignation, however, were not enough to satiate the people's hunger for tabloid news.

ABC News has identified Spitzer's $4,000 date as Ashley Alexandra Dupre and even perused her MySpace page. Turns out Dupre is an aspiring singer in New York City, and that most of her friends and family did not know about her occupation as a call girl. Spitzer knew Dupre only by the fake moniker Kristen, the "high-priced hooker" sent to him by The Emperor's Club V.I.P. escort service.

She was allegedly described to Spitzer as "American, petite, very pretty brunette, 5 feet 5 inches and 105 pounds," ABC News reported. Her MySpace page hints at a hard childhood that included a "broken home" and some "abuse."

Dupre was initially revealed by the New York Times, after which her boyfriend left her and she expressed concerns about paying the rent on her apartment. Knowing the tactics of the desperate record industry, however, it would not be surprising if a major record label decided to sign her based on her recent notorious reputation. Word on the actual quality of her music is yet to be reported.
