Springsteen Will Close Giants Stadium
If you're from New Jersey, there really was no other option. On Thursday night, it was announced that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform three shows at Giants Stadium this fall, months before the 33-year-old venue will be demolished. Springsteen's show will be the last musical act performed in the historic venue.
The New York Daily News reported that the scheduled dates for the Giants Stadium shows are September 30, October 2, and October 3. Tickets will go on sale June 1.
Reuters reporter Sheri Linden, who is apparently a Springsteen fan, noted that the band has dug into its archives, playing fan favorites like "Rosalita," "I'm Going Down," and "Jungleland" during shows on their current tour.
The Boss's North American tour wraps up on Saturday at the Izod Center in New Jersey, with a European tour scheduled to begin the following week. The band will return in June to play the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee before resuming their European dates. More U.S. dates are expected.
