Starr Receives His Own Star
There was a star for Starr Monday night as Beatles drummer and solo artist Ringo Starr received a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Rolling Stone magazine reports hundreds of fans gathered at the Capitol Records Tower to cheer on the beloved Beatle and the ceremony kicked off, fittingly, with a group of high school band drummers.
According to the magazine, Joe Walsh, Ben Harper and Don Was all spoke at the festive event.
This isn’t Starr’s first trip to the famous Walk. The Beatles received their own star back in 1998, Rolling Stone reports, and John Lennon and George Harrison got their own individual stars after their deaths.
Starr didn’t forget to acknowledge his former band mates during his acceptance speech, sending out “peace and love” to all three of them, per Rolling Stone.
Rolling Stone reports Monday marked the 50th anniversary of the Walk of Fame.
Now, when will Paul McCartney get his star?
