Stars' Fave Ride, The Escalade, Most Likely To Be Stolen
Note to stars: Have your bodyguard wait with the car next time.
A quick Google search finds the Cadillac Escalade in lyrics for artists like Lil' Kim, Fat Joe and Kanye West.
Unfortunately, the much-desired sport utility vehicle favored by rap stars (and Tony Soprano) is also the car most likely to be reported as stolen, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The Associated Press, which broke the story, speculated that it might be the chrome detailing, customized rims, leather seats or internal DVD players that tempt thieves to take a five-finger (and one-footed?) discount on the vehicle.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, though not as glamorous, were also frequently stolen, the report adds.
