Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who re-aggravated his lower leg injury in Sunday’s 23-7 victory over Cincinnati, has been listed as doubtful for Week 15, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

After initially suffering the lower leg injury last month, Polamalu played through the ailment. However, Polamalu re-injured the leg while returning a first half interception 45 yards for a touchdown in Week 14.

The five-time Pro Bowler played through the pain during the second half against the Bengals and did not sit out for a single play. Polamalu even caught his second interception of the game during the fourth quarter.

Polamalu did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, which has become routine since November. But he had always practiced Friday since sustaining the lower leg injury until today.

The two-time Super Bowl champion has 62 tackles and six interceptions this season. Four of his six interceptions have been recorded during Pittsburgh’s four-game winning streak.

“I’ll say one thing; he’s a great player,” Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis told ESPN. “If he can’t play that’s a big loss for them because he makes a lot of plays and he’s a leader for them.”

If Polamalu cannot play Sunday against the Jets, either Will Allen or Ryan Mundy will replace him in the starting lineup.
