Stefani Sues Forever 21
Gwen Stefani is suing teen fashion chain Forever 21 for trademark infringement of her Harajuku Lovers clothing line.
Papers filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Federal Court claimed that Forever 21 is "marketing, promoting, and selling products featuring a design 'virtually indistinguishable' from Harajuku's signature heart/box logo."
Stefani claimed that Forever 21 used her design, but changed the words "Harajuku Lovers" to "Forever Love." The lawsuit charged that the clothing store "changed a couple words in the Heart Box trademark which are inconspicuous and likely to go unnoticed by a consumer."
Harajuku Lovers has allegedly "suffered and continues to suffer damage to its business reputation" due to Forever 21's trademark infringement.
