Stephanie March Returns to "Law and Order: SVU"

Actress reprises role after five years.

Actress Stephanie March is getting back to the district attorney groove.

March, 34, will reprise her role as Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot for a six-episode deal on NBC's Law & Order: SVU, beginning Feb. 17, E! reports.

Neal Baer, the show's executive producer, explains that Alexandra is coming back to court while her replacement, Assistant DA Kim Grayleck (Michaela McManus), is on a special assignment in Washington, D.C.

March is delighted to return, saying, "Everytime I run into it I think, 'Hmmm, what if?' I look forward to spending some time working with a production that has always been so rewarding to me."

When March left the show, her character was put into the witness protection program after busting a dangerous drug dealer. Since then, March has been a guest star on another NBC show, 30 Rock, as well as ABC's Grey's Anatomy. She even participated on the Food Network with her husband, celebrity chef Bobby Flay.

March played Cabot on the Law & Order spin-off, Conviction, which was short-lived.
