Stephen Colbert to Auction Off Signed Cast on eBay
As loyal watchers of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" are well aware, Stephen Colbert broke his wrist almost a month ago. Since his first appearance on the air wearing a cast, Colbert has mentioned the injury at every opportunity, from decrying Hollywood's "glamorization" of "wrist violence" to promoting the sale of his "WristStrong" bracelet (a parody of Lance Armstrong's "LiveStrong" bands). On tonight's episode of "The Colbert Report," Colbert will announce the auctioning off of his signed cast on eBay. The cast has been signed by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg; CBS "Evening News" anchor Katie Couric; NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams; Fox News "The O'Reilly Factor" host Bill O'Reilly; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.); NBC "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert; and White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. Proceeds from the sale of the cast (like those from the sale of the "WristStrong" bracelet) will go to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, a charity that benefits injured service members and their families.
