Stephen King Thinks Stephenie Meyer Is "Not Very Good"

In an interview with USA Today, Stephen King said "Twilight" author "can't write worth a darn."

The master of horror writing has made his opinion about "Twilight" series writer, Stephenie Meyer, loud and clear. In an interview with USA Today, Stephen King said that he doesn't think Meyer is a good writer, according to examiner.com.

Reportedly, this comment came after he was asked whether he believed his work influences current writers, like J.K. Rowling and Meyer.

"Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... the real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn," Access Hollywood reports him as saying. "She's not very good."

He went on to say that people are attracted to those stories because of their pace and that in Meyer's case, it is apparent that she is writing for the generation of girls by joining "love and sex in those books."

Not surprisingly, fans of "Twilight" aren't thrilled with his comments, calling him an "idiot" and "jerk," as examiner.com reports.

The interview will be the cover story of the USA Today issue of March 6-8.
