NBC just keeps making Steve Carell’s last season on The Office bigger and bigger as it has announced today that his final episode will be a full twenty minutes longer than an average episode.
According to USA Today, the episode, which airs on April 24, will go from 9:00 to 9:50pm.
Following that will be Parks and Recreation, which will get an extra ten minutes in length to take it from 9:50 to 10:30pm.
A new episode of 30 Rock will finish off the night, bumping Outsourced off the schedule.
HitFix reports that this coincides with the start of the May sweeps period, which will allow NBC to gauge the show’s viewership, as Carell exists with Will Farrell temporarily filling in.
New episodes return this Thursday, April 14 after a nearly month-long hiatus that started on March 24.
