Steven Tyler Injured After Falling Off Stage

Aerosmith cuts concert short in South Dakota.

Steven Tyler, 61, fell off the stage during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota on Wednesday night. BBC News reported that he suffered head and neck injuries, though the severity of these injuries is unknown.

Tyler was dancing to keep the concert-goers' spirits up after the sound system failed during Aerosmith's performance. The sound system went out while the band was playing "Love in an Elevator."

The concert, held at Buffalo Chip Campground, was cut short right after Tyler's fall into the crowd. The Associated Press reported that Joe Perry, guitarist, came on stage to report that the rest of the show was cancelled and Tyler was being taken to a hospital.

Mike Sanborn, Buffalo Chip Campground spokesman, said that Tyler had been flown to Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Tyler was at the show to promote his line of Dirico Motorcycles.
