Still No Singer for Velvet Revolver

Slash confirms that the super group still hasn't found a singer since Scott Weiland left.

In an exclusive with Classic Rock magazine, Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash said that fans' speculation is true. Velvet Revolver still hasn't found a new singer.

Scott Weiland (ex-Stone Temple Pilots) left in March 2008, reported Rolling Stone. The band cited "increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems," in a press release, as the reason.

"Scott to me is now like George Bush — y'know," Slash told Classic Rock, "I like him now that he's not here."

Attempts to replace him since then have been unsuccessful, although VR's Duff McKagen told Rolling Stone in April that the band thought they found a new front man, but it didn't pan out.

Parts of the interview paint a less than blissful view of Slash's tenure in VR.

"Fuckin' Velvet Revolver – that was the toughest five years," the guitarist said, "dealing with that band."

For now, Slash said the band is at a "standstill" while he works on his solo album and McKagen tours with his punk band, Loaded.
