Stingray Kills Crocodile Hunter

Steve Irwin, the well known Australian crocodile hunter was killed Monday after a stingray attack while filming along the Great Barrier Reef.

Irwin was swimming in the shallow water of the Australian coastline, while filming for his 8-year-old daughter's new TV show, when he was attacked by the Stingray. The fish punctured Irwin right in the heart. It is very rare for a stingray's puncture to be fatal.

Irwin was taken by his boat to a rescue helicopter; however he died before making it to the hospital.
