Stone Temple Pilots Reunite for Tour

According to a source, the Stone Temple Pilots are close to announcing an extensive summer tour of over 50 amphitheaters.

There have been an array of bands reuniting for tours this year and the Stone Temples Pilots are no exception. Reuters reports that the band is planning to announce a summer tour of more than 50 amphitheaters.

The Stone Temple Pilots have already confirmed some festival dates, first being the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 17-18.

Reportedly, any further details of an STP tour will likely be announced during an April 7 news telecast at the Harry Houdini Estate in Los Angeles.

STP's performance in May will mark their first show since 2002, when the band played 13 concerts to promote their final album, 2001's Shangri-La Dee Da.

Singer Scott Weiland is currently wrapping up a European tour in support of his second album with band Velvet Revolver.

Members of STP parted ways in late 2002 with their last concerts grossing nearly $1.3 million and viewed by approximately 42,000 fans.
