Storms Headed for California

California is warned to watch out for storms on Friday and Saturday.

There are storms heading for California that will bring high winds, heavy rains and snow in higher places. The National Weather Service issued warnings of flash flooding, high winds, blizzards and heavy surf, according to The New York Times.

"Urban flooding problems can be expected to impact travel on Friday as the front moves through," the weather service said. Two to six inches of rain are expected in a fairly short amount of time which can lead to overflow of creeks and streams with very little notice. Due to the recent brush fires the much of the vegetation that would keep the soil in place is gone and heightened the danger of mudslides. The winds may reach 60 miles per hour in the lower elevations and 100 miles per hour in higher elevations. They warned, "Be alert for flying debris," and "secure all doors and windows and stay indoors if possible." There is a warning for storms on Friday and Saturday.
