Sundance Films Will be More Accessible to Public

Video-on-demand relases are helping get Sundance films out to the public.

Having your movie shown at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah is a big deal. But when the festival is over and all is said and done, how much of the public really gets to see the films?

The answer has always been not many, but that all might change as directors begin to take steps to get their films accessible to the general public.

According to ABC, many Sundance Films will be available through video-on-demand almost immediately after the festival comes to a close this weekend.

One Sundance Film director and star, Linas Phillips, is very excited about the film becoming more easily reached.

“It's getting my work out there. It's so much better than e-mailing friends and saying, `Hey, my film's playing in Chicago for five nights. Do you know anyone there?'", Philips said in a recent interview with ABC.

Phillips’ film, Bass Ackwards will be available through video-on-demand starting February 1, ABC said.
