Super Bowl Preparation in Action

With all the commotion surrounding the Super Bowl, New Orleans is having a hard time concentrating on anything else.

Super Bowl preparations are taking priority to many of the residents of New Orleans: everything, from pre-Mardi Gras parades being rescheduled, to Sunday mass being canceled with the blessing of the local archbishop. Some local restaurants are even closing on a non-holiday for the first time.

With all the hype of the Saints at the Super Bowl, much of the focus of local TV newscasts has only been the Saints.

Not surprisingly, the football fever has provided a nudge for a city that has been challenged with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
