Singer Susan Boyle had a devastating bout of stage fright yesterday that stopped her dead in her tracks whilst performing "O Holy Night" on ABC’s The View.
Boyle was making an appearance on the show to promote her next album, The Gift, when she began coughing and stopped singing. The overwhelmed singer imploringly looked around to cast and crew members and asked if she could do it again, forgetting that they were live on air.
To compensate for the mishap, presenters Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd interjected by admiring the performance, excusing the song’s abrupt end by saying that Boyle "had a frog in her throat."
Luckily, West Coast viewers were shown an amended edition of the tape that conceals the calamity.
The reality star has been doing the rounds in New York City; she appeared on NBC last night for their Christmas in Rockefeller Center special to perform "Away in a Manger."
