SVU welcomes Sharon Stone

It was recently announced that Sharon Stone would be appearing in four episodes of ‘Law and Order SVU.’ Though she has not started filming yet, she is set to play a police officer turned prosecutor later on this season. The show which features Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni as its leads is in its 11th season. The series as a whole has been recognized multiple times, and it has also had many outstanding guest stars.

Stone, who is perhaps best known for her role in Basic Instinct, has been successful in both movies and television. In 2004 she won an Emmy for her guest appearance on ‘The Practice’ and has also guest starred on ‘Will and Grace.’

“It is obviously a thrill and a delight to have a star of Sharon’s wattage and importance joining SVU,” producer Dick Wolf told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.

Though the details of when the episodes will air are uncertain, hopes are that Stone’s appearance will help to spice up the already successful show.
