Swan Has No Regrets After Being Pulled From Survivor
Thursday night's episode of "Survivor" included what is now being considered by the CBC "the scariest moment ever."
Contestant Russell Swan, 42, passed-out in the middle of a rewards challenge. Severe malnutrition and dehydration caused the Pennsylvania attorney to collapse, and even appear dead for a moment. Soon after, Jeff Probst removed Swan from the show. Luckily, Swan is alive and well, and has even come to terms with his unfortunate departure.
In an interview with LA Times Swan spoke about his initial anger at the show, and his later realization of the severity of his situation.
When asked to describe his collapse, Swan explained "I felt like I was in a sauna and they were putting hot water on me."
He admits that he thought Probst was exaggerating the drama for the sake of TV. At the time, he did not think there was cause for concern. When he watched the episode last night with his wife, he was shocked to see how sick he looked.
"I really didn't know it was that bad at all," he admitted.
Now, he agrees with his dismissal.
Oh yell yea," he replied to the question of whether Probst made the right decision. "I was dying," he went on to say.
One of the main reasons Swan was so upset was that he believed he had a chance to win. He told the "Times" that now he "wouldn't be shocked, even with Shambo's craziness, if she ended up being the winner."
Despite the loss of his dream, and a million dollars, Swan is not harboring any negative feelings.
"I have no regrets," he said.
Due to the situation, no one was voted off at tribal council on Thursday night.
