Swift, Jackson head up AMA nominees
Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson have received the most nominations for the 37th annual American Music Awards.
According to ABC News, Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson head the list of contenders for the 37th annual American Music Awards, both vying for the artist of the year prize.
Swift has received 6 nominations, Jackson 5, and other artists receiving multiple acknowledgements are Kings of Leon, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and T.I. While the public will get the chance to select their winners through a vote, nominations are awarded based on radio airplay and retail sales.
The ceremony will take place in L.A's Nokia Theatre on November 22, and ABC will broadcast the show in the US. Last year's winner of "Best Artist" was Chris Brown.
