Swine Flu Causes Cancellation of U.S. Concerts

Young Jeezy and Cornelius concerts are cancelled in light of the uprising of the swine flu.

At the University of Delaware, Young Jeezy was scheduled to perform on Thursday, April 30. Instead, the University released a Health Alert, and a letter from their President, Patrick Harker. Harker responded with a recovery letter, saying that class will begin later on in the week. The cancellation was due to the diagnosis of four students with the swine flu. The concert was just one of many events that were cancelled due to the health scare.

Cornelius, a Japanese indie-rock performer, cancelled his North American trek. The tour had openers Deerhoof, and was cancelled earlier last week. There were a total of six dates, ranging from northern California to Mexico, that were cancelled.

On Cornelius's Myspace page, the Cornelius Group says: "Our deepest sympathies to all of those affected directly or indirectly by this virus. . . . We hope to return in 2010, and will have more information for you in the coming months."
