Tom Hooper’s British historical drama film The King’s Speech has been an awards season darling, but it has been bumped from the No. 1 spot at the U.K. box office by Walt Disney Pictures’ animated musical film Tangled, according to Digital Spy.

Tangled earned £5.1 million in its opening weekend, bumping The King’s Speech down to No. 2 with £3.6 million. Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller Black Swan, starring Golden Globe and SAG Award winner Natalie Portman and Golden Globe nominee Mila Kunis, came in third with £2.5 million.

Co-directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, Tangled is the 50th animated motion picture in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The film features the vocal talents of Chuck’s Zachary Levi and A Walk to Remember’s Mandy Moore.

To go along with its success in the U.K., Tangled also generated the highest opening weekend totals ever for a Disney film at the Irish box office with £753,000, Movies.ie reports.

Having already earned $440 million in gross revenue, including over $200 million in foreign box office, Walt Disney Studios and Imax will release Tangled 3D in the Asian market starting in February.

“One of the best ways to celebrate the arrival of a movie in any given market, in any part of the world, is to include an Imax release,” said Chuck Viane, Disney’s president of global distribution, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
