Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will not be returning to Gossip Girl next season as series regulars.
According to OnTheRedCarpet.com, Momsen’s character’s role as Jenny Humphrey has been diminished throughout the fourth season. Szohr’s character, Vanessa Abrams, has left New York altogether.
Momsen began her acting career as Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She also appeared as the president’s daughter in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams in 2002. She has recently been busy with her band, The Pretty Reckless.
Szohr began her career in 2003 on shows such as What I Like About You and That’s So Raven. She has also recently appeared in Art Machine, Love, Wedding, Marriage, Hirokin and I Don’t Know How She Does It. Szohr is also set to star in Wanted Dead, which is set to be released on November 15.
Access Hollywood reported that the show’s main stars, including Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford, will all be returning for the show’s fifth season. Kaylee DeFer, who joined the cast as Serena’s cousin last season, has been promoted to a series regular.
