Wild child Taylor Momsen has reportedly been put on an “indefinite hiatus” from the show which helped launch her into stardom in the first place. According to MTV, the actress will be conspicuously absent for at least four of the upcoming episodes of Gossip Girl.
There’s no word on what’s going to happen to her character on the show, Jenny Humphrey, to cover the absence, and the official report issued by producers of the show did not say why Momsen wouldn't be appearing.
This apparently isn’t the first time she’s gone AWOL; earlier this year, she left the show to pursue her music career. Now that she and her band, Pretty Reckless, are up and about, it may be that the troubled young star is just looking for a career change.
Nonetheless, she’s only appeared in three episodes this season, and will be missing the mid-season finale. The actress has been called a diva before - most recently by style guru Tim Gunn, who appeared in an episode with Momsen.
He talked to E! News, saying: “What a diva, she was pathetic, she couldn't remember her lines, and she didn't even have that many. I thought to myself, 'Why are we being held hostage by this brat?' "
Momsen recently attributed her wild behavior to her upbringing, blaming her parents for pushing her into show business as an infant.
“Everyone's like, 'Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?' My parents signed me up with Ford [modeling agency] at the age of 2," Momsen revealed. "No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice. ... My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn't have any friends. I was working constantly and I didn't have a real life.”
