Taylor Momsen: "I decided to start being myself"

Little J is all grown up at the age of 16.

Taylor Momsen, the newest queen bee on "Gossip Girl" and cover girl for Teen Vogue, talks about her music, her new look and how she's not your average teenager.

She admits to the magazine that she is mature for her age and not really doing what kids her age do—she graduated high school two years early because she found it "boring," is taking online college classes, and her friends and guys she dates are older than her.

"Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there's just no way. I would eat a boy my age alive," she said.

As for school, she's not doing the traditional thing. She said she's not interested in doing the college thing. People usually go to college to find themselves, she said, and she already knows herself.

Momsen's time is currently split between her two careers: acting and music. Her band, the Pretty Reckless, is getting a lot of attention, but that doesn't mean she is leaving "Gossip Girl."

"I hope it goes on for a couple more years," Momsen said.

With her rise on the music scene, and an obvious change in her looks, Momsen assures that her new look is not an act or persona—it's who she is. She said her old hair didn't fit her.

"But it wasn't me that changed—it was just that I decided to start being myself. Now I do my own makeup, my own hair and dress myself, and it feels better," Momsen said.

What you see is basically what you get, and that goes for her music too.

"My lyrics are my diary—you're hearing every detail on my life," she adds.
