If you’re interested in learning about Taylor Swift’s love life, just tune into one of her many songs on her break-ups and make-ups and you can likely figure out just who she’s talking about.
However, the country star is February 2012’s Vogue cover girl and inside its pages she doesn’t hold back when talking about her prior relationships.
While all has been fairly quiet on the Swift dating front, her last high-profile – but brief – relationship was with Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor reportedly broke up with Swift just before New Year’s Day in 2011.
"I am not gonna go into it! It's a sad story!" she said of the break-up, Us Magazine reports. She also notes, "I'm not sad and I'm not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that."
“There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak," she continues on to say to Vogue, never directly mentioning Gyllenhaal’s name, "and that will turn out to be what the next album is about."
Swift, who’s been linked to the likes of Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Chord Overstreet in the past, said "The only way that I can feel better about myself," is to "pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone—is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."
The 22-year-old maintains that she is single and there are no prospects. "I got nothing going on!" she quips. "I just don't really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now."
But if she were to start a relationship, she tells Vogue of some relationship “red flags,” MTV News reports.
Some of them include a guy not understanding why she needs security, someone who wants too much privacy and someone who doesn’t even know her yet seems intensely interested. She explains, "You can't be in love with a Google search.”
