Taylor Swift Finally Dethroned by the Boss
After eight weeks in the number one spot in the Billboard album chart, country-teenage sensation Taylor Swift's dominance finally came to an end via Bruce Springsteen.
The Boss, who made appearances in the Presidential Inauguration and the Super Bowl, sold 223,000 copies, MTV reported. Swift came in second place with sales of 55,000, ending an outstanding run through the charts.
Although Springsteen's success is immense, the star's latest album "Working on a Dream" has sold 100,000 fewer copies in its first week that the singer's 2007 album "Magic," according to MTV
Other artists in the chart include Beyonce, whose album "I Am
Sasha Fierce" earned her the number three spot with 51,000 copies sold. She was followed by Nickelback's "Dark Horse" with 43,000 copies.
As the economic crisis continues, the overall week saw a decrease in sales for the music business. Still, Franz Ferdinand made its best Billboard chart debut with "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand."
