After a long audition process and beating out some hard competition, Taylor Swift has landed the role of Éponine in the big-screen musical adaptation of Les Misérables. Swift will have to take a break from her music career in order to film the musical adaptation.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the country music star will be joining the cast of Les Misérables.
TwitchFilm.com reported that Swift beat out Glee star Lea Michele, Evan Rachel Wood and Scarlett Johansson. Michele had even been in the Broadway show of Les Misérables.
Swift is joining an already star packed cast, featuring Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. In more casting news, according to CBS News, Amanda Seyfried was offered the role of Cosette in the motion picture adaptation.
Filming is set to start in March and the tentative release date for the movie is expected to be announced sometime in December 2012.
No word yet on if Swift has officially taken the offer. This would be Swift's first major movie role. Swift did appear in the comedy, Valentine's Day, but only had a small role.
