Taylor Swift Takes New Job Title
Taylor Swift wants to go from singing about her own emotions to helping others express their feelings.
The young country singer has partnered with American Greetings to develop and design greeting cards, gift packaging and stationary.
Zev Weiss, chief executive for American Greetings, felt that her ability to identify with her fans through her lyrics made her a logical choice for a greeting card creator.
"Her abilities as a storyteller and songwriter make her a natural at writing cards for consumers of all ages," Weiss said in a statement, reports Brandweek.com.
Swift also agrees that songwriting is similar to conceiving catchy phrases for greeting cards.
"My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could. I feel the same way about greeting cards," Swift said, according to CMT.com. "I've always been fascinated by feelings and how we express them to each other. Getting to write and design these cards is a wonderful experience."
Consumers will also be able to purchase branded online photo personalization products and online greetings from Swift's line.
The cards, packaging, and stationaries will be available in stores this spring.
