TCA Award Winners
Television critics got together to voice their opinion on the best in television for the past year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC was a big winner at the TCA awards on Saturday. With the first season under its belt, "Heroes" nabbed a trophy for "outstanding program of the year." "The Office" won for "outstanding achievement in comedy" for the second year in a row.
Other NBC shows that were honored by the Television Critics Association include "Friday Night Lights, which took home the "outstanding new program" award, and Alec Baldwin rounded out the foursome with an "individual achievement in comedy" award for his involvement in "30 Rock." The program, which was held at the Beverley Hills Hilton, also honored "The Sopranos" with "outstanding achievement in drama" and the heritage award. The heritage award is for long-running shows that have had "a lasting cultural or social impact." Other winners include Discovery Networks' "Planet Earth," which won "outstanding achievement in news and information" and "outstanding achievement in movies, miniseries and specials." Michael C. Hall won an award for "individual achievement in a drama" for "Dexter." Mary Tyler Moore was presented with a career achievement award.
