Tebow Ad Doesn't Live Up to Hype

An ad that was supposed to be controversial didn’t live up to its hype on Super Bowl Sunday.

In fact, the Focus on the Family ad starring Tim Tebow and his mother, Pam, was tame, with the only controversial bit being when Tebow tackles his mother.

The ad, according to the Los Angeles Times, was more a lighthearted take on a mother-son relationship than it was an advocate against abortion, or a heartwarming story about a mother ignoring doctors’ advice and having her baby anyway.

In the ad, Pam Tebow holds a baby photo of her son, and is telling how she considers him her miracle baby. She is suddenly tackled and looks like she flies off screen. She quickly pops back up to scold her son, who then appears and wraps her in a hug.

The end of the ad directs viewers to the Focus on the Family Web site, and sports a tagline of “Celebrate Family. Celebrate Life.”
