Ted Turner: Happy 25th Anniversary CNN

Maybe Jane Fonda's ex-husband Ted Turner isn't as big of a monster she claims he is. The 66-year old, who got ousted from CNN in 2000, spoke to a conference of hundreds of current employees and contributors in Atlanta on the network's 25th anniversary said he was still proud of the television channel. Turner still keeps a close eye on the channel despite his not being a part of it. "There's a lot of perversion around, I know that, but is it really news?" he said. I guess you've got to cover Michael Jackson, but not three stories about perversion at the lead of every half-hour." Turner wishes there was more environmental and international coverage, but there's nothing he can do about it now. During Turner's time, he claims they focused more on substantive issues and let ABC, NBC, and CBS cover the rest.
