Teen mom Amber Portwood faces more jail time after violating her probation.
Amber’s brother, Shawn Portwood, told E! News that she missed her probation hearing and consequently, authorities went to her home.
While at her home, authorities found a bottle of what she claimed to be old pills from an earlier prescription. However, police weren’t able to find proof of the prescription, leading to her arrest and being thrown in jail.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Amber’s jail time, adding that it “will be up to the courts to decide” how long she will be staying there.
While the exact date of her lock up is unknown, Amber might miss Christmas for the second year in the row. She spend last year’s Christmas behind bars, too.
TMZ reported last Thursday that Amber could face up to two years in jail for failing to meet the probation terms set up by the court, such as failure to obtain a GED and failure to set up a $10,000 college fund for her daughter, Leah.
Amber was originally sentenced to two years in jail last year for being convicted of domestic battery and neglect, but the sentence was to be suspended if she completed the requirements of her probation.
